"Thomas Dickson [of Boston, N.E., surgeon of H.M. ship Worcester] [Gibraltar and Hawk] dated 22 Jly 1748. Five guineas for a ring to my aunt Elizabeth Dickson, wife of William Mitchell of Forfar, Scotland. One guinea each for a ring to my friends Mr. George Patteson of Orange Street, St. Martin in the Fields, peruke maker, and his wife. The residue to my sister Jane Dickson in Montrose, Scotland. My friends Capt. James Ogilvy in King Street, St. James Square, gent., and John Ouchterlony, merchant in Angel Court, Throgmorton Street, London, to be my execs. Wits: Silvester Gardner, William Complin and William Winter. Codicil of 14 Aug 1748. My gold watch to my friend Silvester Gardner of Boston, N.E., physician, and he is to be my exec. For N.E., to dispose of my black boy and send my seal ring to my first cousin Patrick Dickson of Doe, Angus. To my cousin Mr. James Dickson of Montrose my sword, etc. Wits.: Nathaniel Thwing, John Whitney and Jean Sinclair.
"Pr 12 Jan 1750 by John Ouchterlony. ... Further grant 2 Jun 1762 to the sister Jane Dickson. (Prob 11/776/8)"
