Halver Hyler Whitney (Charles G., William, Haynes), was born 03 09 1881, Thomason, ME, and died 1959, buried in Pine Grove Cemetery, Hartland, ME.

He married 06 07 1914, St. Albans, ME, Winnie Fay Linnell, daughter of George W. and Angie M. (Harding) Linnell. She was born 07 27 1893, Burnham, ME, and died 1960, buried in Pine Grove Cemetery, Hartland, ME.

360 I William Whitney of Thomaston in the county of Knox and State of Maine not being in my ordinary health but of sound and despairing mind and being aware that life is at all times uncertain do hereby declare this to be my last will and testament. First: I give and bequeath to the daughter of my son Oliver H Whitney whose name I believe is Olive Whitney and who is supposed to reside in Gainsville in the State of Mississippi the sum of one hundred dollars. Second: I give and bequeath to my daughter Eliza Jane Leach the sum of two hundred dollars. Third: I give and devise to my son Charles G Whitney his heirs and assigns forever the homestead farm at Beech Wood whereon he now resides with all the buildings thereon and also give and bequeath to him all the stock farming utensels and appurtenances and in addition thereto the sum of three hundred and fifty dollars also my two shares of the stock of the Knox & Lincoln Railroad. Fourth: I give and devise to my wife Elizabeth Whitney the house and lot whereon I now reside to her, her heirs and assigns forever. I also give and bequeath to her all the household furniture contained therein; my one sixty-fourth part of the ship “Joseph S Spinney” of Thomaston also my one sixteenth part of schooner “Ada F Whitney of Thomaston. Fifth: I hereby appoint my said son Charles G Whitney and my brother Charles R Whitney to be executors of this my last will and testament and hereby authorize them to convey if needed by bill of sale or otherwise so much of my personal estate as may be necessary to pay the several bequests heretofore mentioned, debts and funeral expenses also to pay over to said legatees the several sums bequeath as herein provided and I hereby direct that the residue of my estate after the payment of said bequests be given to my wife Elizabeth Whitney. 361 In witness whereof I have hereunto set my and seal in the presence of these witnesses and at my request this 15th day of June in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and eighty-five.
