Charles Abijah9 Whitney (Samuel Butterick8, Abijah7, Abijah6, Joseph5, Benjamin4, Joseph3, John2, John1), son of Samuel Butterick8 and Mary Watson (Crehore) Whitney, was born 15 Aug 1855, Waltham, MA,[1] and died 28 Jul 1909, Waltham, MA, aged 54 years, of cerebral hemorrhage.[2]

He married, 13 Nov 1881, Waltham, MA, Leila Porter, daughter of Fred K. and Eliza C. (-----) Porter.[3] She was born about 1856, Waltham, MA.

He resided Waltham, MA. He was a wood turner and draftsman.

i. Elsie Chehore10 Whitney, b. 5 Mar 1883, Waltham, MA;[4] "Elise" m. 19 Sep 1910, Waltham, MA, Hugo Bruno Seikel, b. ca. 1881, New Haven, CT, son of George C. and Minnie A. (Fleurin) Seikel.[5]
ii. Thomas Lawrence Whitney, b. 13 Oct 1885, Waltham, MA;[6] d. 5 Oct 1906, Waltham Hospital, Waltham, MA, aged 21 years, of Bright's disease;[7] He was buried in Grove Hill Cemetery, Waltham, MA.
ii. Charles Abijah Whitney, b. 11 Jan 1899 [twin], Waltham, MA;[8] d. 28 Jan 1900, Waltham, MA, aged 1 year 18 days, of acute pulmonary edema.[9]
ii. Samuel Butterick Whitney, b. 11 Jan 1899 [twin], Waltham, MA;[10] d. 19 Sep 1899, Waltham, MA, aged 8 months 8 days, of meningitis (vaselar) and enterocolitis.[11]
