Capt. George5 Whitney (Jason4, Mark3, Benjamin2, John1), son of Jason4 and Lois (Fisher) Whitney, was born 22 Mar 1778, Natick, MA,[1] and died 18 Feb 1849, Natick, MA, aged 71 years; married; of lung fever.[2]

Marriage intentions were published 3 Sep 1799, Natick, MA, for him and first wife Esther Morse. She was born 1 Sep 1780, Framingham, MA, and died 26 Mar 1836, Natick, MA.

Marriage intentions were published 24 Mar 1839, Natick, MA, for him "Capt." and second wife Azubah (-----) Hastings "of Millbury". He "of Natick" married secondly, 13 Apr 1839, Millbury, MA, "Mrs." Azubah (-----) Hastings. She had married firstly, before 1810, Joseph Hastings.

Pierce says the following:[3]

He was born in Natick, Mass., where he always resided; was a leading and public spirited citizen; was captain of the local militia company; member of the parish committee, and held all the town offices. All his children were noted for their musical ability and penmanship.

ii. Hannah Whitney, b. 30 Jan 1802; m.(1) 10 Oct 1821, Natick, MA, Henry Rice; m.(2) 26 Sep 1832, Natick or Lincoln, MA, Joseph Daniels "of Lincoln;" m. Joseph Daniels 26 Sep 1832.
iii. David Morse Whitney, b. 16 Mar 1804; d. 21 Sep 1805, Natick, MA.
iv. David Morse Whitney, b. 1 Nov 1806; m.(1) Mary Ann Gilmore; m.(2) Nancy Goodenow6 (Whitney) Wheeler.
v. George Callender Whitney, b. 3 Feb 1809; m. Persis Robins Broad.
vi. Freeman Sears Whitney, b. 6 Feb 1812; m. 3 Apr 1833, Natick, MA, Eveline Perry.
vii. Dr. Samuel Stillman Whitney, b. 8 Jan 1815; m. Sarah W. Spaulding.
viii. John Angier Whitney, b. 20 Dec 1817; m.(1) Emily Ann Walker; m.(2) Elizabeth Sarah "Lizzie" Thomson.
ix. Ebenezer R. Whitney, b. 20 Dec 1820; m. Sarah F. Leighton.

Capt. George5 and Azubah (-----)(Hastings) Whitney had no children.
