He married, say 1778, ----- -----. She was born between 1756 and 1774, and died after 1800.
Children of Benjamin6 and ----- (-----) Whitney, possibly incomplete.
i. Esther Whitney, b. say 1779, Dummerston, VT; m. 21 Apr 1799, Dummerston, VT, Washington Burnham. ii. Sally Whitney, b. say 1782, Dummerston, VT; m.(1) about 1802, Brattleboro, VT, William Kelly; m.(2) 9 Feb 1818, Dummerston, VT, William Crosby. iii. Polly Whitney, b. say 1786, Dummerston, VT; m.(1) Elijah W. Stearns; m.(2) Nathan Adams. iv. son Whitney, b. say 1791, Dummerston, VT, deduced from 1800 census record.

- 1791, Dummerston, Windham Co., VT: Benja Whitney, 1 male over 16 and 6 females. This was presumably the son, not the father, who had died before the census was taken. Some of the females were probably sisters.
- 1800, Dummerston, Windham Co., VT: Benjamin Whitney, 1 male over 45, 1 male 0-9, 1 female 26-44, 1 female 16-25, and 1 female 10-15. Again, this was the son.
