Charlotte Anita Whitney, suffragist and political radical.

Native Californian who was a supporter of the Industrial Workers of the World and a member of the Socialist Party and the American Communist Party. She was convicted under California's Criminal Syndicalism Act in 1920 of belonging to a party advocating unlawful violence to accomplish political change, but was pardoned by Governor Clement Calhoun Young.
