Family:Whitney, Lydia (c1783-a1850)
Lydia Whitney, parentage unknown, was born circa 1783,Palmer, MA [1] and died after 21 Jun 1860,[2] probably New York.
She married, 17 Jun 1805,[3] Belchertown, Hampshire Co., MA, Amasa Fairfield. He was born 10 May 1784, Belchertown, Hampshire Co., MA, and died 28 Sep 1844 at Alexander, Genesee Co., NY.
There were two Whitney families residing in Belchertown, MA in the years 1790-1800. The children of Ebenezer Whitney (c1747-a1793) are accounted for and this is probably not the family to which Lydia belongs. The family of Joshua and Dorothy Whitney is less known, and had daughters of the correct age to have included Lydia.
