Francis Whitney, parentage unknown, was born say 1780 (between 1775-1780), and died after 1830.
He appears to have married a first wife sometime before 1802 who died about 1820.
He appears to have married a second wife sometime between 1820 and 1825. She died before 1830.
In the 1816 Mississippi State Census, the 1820 Mississippi State as well as the 1820 Federal Censuses, he was living in Franklin Co., MS. By 1830, he was across the Mississippi River residing in Catahoula Parish, LA.

i. (Son) Whitney, b. ca. 1802-1804, moved away bef. 1830. ii. (Daughter) Whitney, b. ca. 1804-1810, married or died before 1830. iii. (Daughter) Whitney, b. ca. 1804-1810. iv. (Son) Whitney, b. ca. 1810-1816, moved away bef. 1830. v. (Son) Whitney, b. ca. 1795-1816, d. or moved away bef. 1820 (state).

vi. (Daughter) Whitney, b. ca. 1820-1825. vii. (Son) Whitney, b. ca. 1825-1830. viii. (Son) Whitney, b. ca. 1825-1830.

- 1816, Franklin Co., MS: Francis Whitney, 1 white male over 21, 3 white males under 21, 1 white female over 21, 2 white females under 21, 7 whites total, no free colored, no slaves, 7 total.[1]
- 1820 (state census), Franklin Co., MS: Francis Whitney, no free white taxable inhabitants, 3 free white males, 3 free white females, 6 people total.[2]
- 1820, Franklin Co., MS: Francis Whitney, 1 male 26-45, 1 male 16-18, 1 male under 10, 2 females 10-16, 4 people in agriculture, 1 female slave 14-26.
- 1830, Catahoula Parish, LA: Francis Whitney, Sr., 1 male 50-60, 2 males under 5, 1 female 20-30, 1 female 5-10, 1 male slave 10-24, 2 male slaves under 10, 1 female slave 24-36, 9 people total.
