William7 Whitney (Abijah6, Joseph5, John4, Joseph3, John2, John1), son of Abijah6 and Anna (Whittemore) Whitney,[1] was born 29 Oct 1807, Weston, MA, baptized 1 Nov 1807, Weston, MA,[2], and died 27 or 29 Oct 1847, Shirley, MA, aged 38 years, baggage master, b. Weston, breaking of bridge on railroad.[3]
He "of Waltham" married, 1 Mar 1829, Boylston, MA, Ruth Crossman,[4] daughter of Abishai and Ruth (Wheeler) Whitney.[5] She was born 17 Sep 1803, Boylston, MA,[6] and died after 1850.

i. Rebecca8 Whitney, b. 8 Oct 1830, Boylston, MA.[7] Apparently she was the daughter "Cynthia R.", aged 19, appearing in the family in 1850. ii. William H. Whitney, b. ca. 1836, living 1850.
