^c Bodenham. Bodenham, a parish inco. Hereford, on the river Lugg, 8 miles N.N.E. from Hereford. The church belonged to the Dominican priory of Brecon.—Reg. Swinf. f. 1C3, a ; Jones, Hist, of Brecon, i. p. 39. Hugh de Benêt was incumbent in 1291.— Duncumb, Collections, &c. 4to. 1812, ii. p. 54.

^d Pencomb'. Pencomb, a parish in со. Hereford, 4 1/2 miles W. by S. from Bromyard.

^e Rectoris. Master John de Chaundos, priest, was instituted to the church of Penecumbe on the presentation of Sir Eustace de Wyteneie, knt. 2 non. Febr. 1288. Reg. Swinf, f. 59, a.

^f Sicut ipse intellexit. Another example of questioned liability to procuration. The rector scrupled the claim, and only invited his lordship, who was fain to accept his entertainment, rather as a boon than a right.
