Joseph Dix⁶ Whitney (Joseph⁵, Joseph⁴, Joseph³, Jonathan², John¹), born Francistown, New Hampshire, 4 Apr 1791; married 4 Apr 1811, Susanna Drury, of Alstead, New Hampshire; born 19 Apr 1790; died 10 Oct 1847. He was a farmer. He died 5 Oct 1877; resided East Brookfield, Vermont.

i.	Susannah W.7 Whitney, born 21 Oct 1811; married 10 May 1849, -----. She died 5 Feb 1870.
ii.	Pamelia Whitney, born 3 Dec 1816; married 3 Apr 1843, -----. She died Feb. 23, 1861.
iii.	Rebecca Whitney, born 3 Dec 1818; married 3 Jan 1839, Charles Parker (see). She died 14 Mar 1888. He was born 24 Sep 1810, son of Phinehas and Polly (Whitney) Parker; resided East Randolph, Vermont Ch.: Willard W., born 30 Jul 1840; married 10 Oct 1873; resided Chelsea, Vermont; Samuel D., born 8 May 1843; died 3 Apr 1865; Augusta S., born Feb. 12, 1849; married 21 Dec 1869, Edgar J. Rich. She died 25 Dec 1884. Mary J., born 24 Dec 1850; married 16 Mar 1871, David Dickerman; resided Chelsea; Eliza M., born 31 Mar 1853; married 23 Dec 1881, Fred H. Tuttle; resided Tunbridge, Vermont; Charles, born 18 Sep 1855; Ella M., born 17 Jul 1858; died 1 Jun 1879.
iv.	Sarah Ann Whitney, born 25 Feb 1822; married 14 Feb 1843, -----. She died July 27, 1864.
v.	Eliza M. Whitney, born 13 Jun 1825; married 9 Jun 1850, ----- -----. She died Feb. 9, 1851.
vi.	Leonora Whitney, born 28 Apr 1828; married 5 Jan 1861, Gardner Parker; born 16 Aug 1824; died 26 Feb 1889; resided Chelsea, Vermont. Of the living descendants of this family are Mrs. David Dickerman, East Randolph, Vermont, and Mrs. Stillman L. Rich, of Chelsea, Vermont.
