Barnard⁸ Whitney (Moses⁷, Samuel⁶, Samuel⁵, Nathaniel⁴, Nathaniel³, John², John¹), son of Moses⁷ and Bernice (Locke) Whitney; born Marlboro, Vermont, 5 Feb 1799; married 11 Sep 1828, Lydia Buell. He died Sept. 15, 1853; resided Marlboro, Vermont.

Children of Barnard⁸ and Lydia (Buell) Whitney:

i.	Amaretta9 Whitney, born 15 Jul 1829; married 15 Dec 1858, Timothy Adams Mather, son of Capt. Simeon.
ii.	Letitia Elvira Whitney, born 7 Apr 1832; died 6 Oct 1847.
iii.	Electa Bernice Whitney, born 26 Jan 1835.
iv.	Frank Barnard Whitney, born 20 Oct 1837.
v.	Mary Letitia Whitney, born 10 Dec 1847.
