John6 Whitney (Josiah5, John4, Nathaniel3, Benjamin2, John1), son of Josiah5 and Hannah (Turner) Whitney; born Toronto, Canada, in 1781; married in Quebec, ----- -----; died 1832.

He was born in Toronto, Canada, was a farmer, and during the war of 1812 served in an English company, raised in Canada. He was a devout member of the Church of England, and in politics was a Conservative. He was granted a pension from Chelsea Hospital of 6d. sterling per day. he died 1864; resided Sherbrook and Chipman, Nova Scotia.

i. Belle7 Whitney, born 2 Jan 1816; married in Chipman, Canada, 1841, Matthew Glen; resided Salmon River, Queens County, New Brunswick. He was born 1816. Is a farmer.
Ch.: Mary Jane, born 1846; married 1868, Mr. Paschel; resided Harcourt, Kent County, New Brunswick, Josiah, born 1848; married 1885; resided Lake Stream, New Brunswick; Matthew, born 1851; married 1892; resided Fulton Brook, New Brunswick.
ii. Elenor Whitney, born 1823; married 1851, John McDuff; resided Doaktown, Northumberland County, New Brunswick.
iii. Charlotte Whitney, born 1828; married 1853, Freeman Arbo; resided Elm Hall, Michigan.
