Samuel Albert8 Whitney (Samuel7, Samuel6, Ezra5, James4, John3, Jonathan2, John1), born in Monson, Massachusetts, 17 May 1819; married in Ware, 2 Sep 1845, Sarah Ellen Clark, born 13 Dec 1824.

He was born in Monson, Massachusetts, and went with his parents to the wilderness of Maine in 1820. They settled near Moose Head lake; in a few years a town was incorporated and called Monson, in honor of his birthplace. After a residence of twelve years there, the family returned to Massachusetts. He was married in Ware and later resided in Ware and Brimfield, Massachusetts, and Hartford, Connecticut, and for the past thirty-seven years in Norwich, Connecticut. His business has been that of a merchant and for a few years he held the office of selectman and assessor, and for many years was notary public; resided Norwich, Connecticut.

Children of Samuel Albert8 and Sarah Ellen (Clark) Whitney:

i. Mary Abbie9 Whitney, born 31 Dec 1854; died 5 May 1856.
