Family:Whitney, Levi (1739-1809)
Levi5 Whitney (Daniel4, Jonathan3, Jonathan2, John1), son of Daniel4 and Thankful (Allen) Whitney, was born 5 Dec 1739, Shrewsbury, MA,[1] and died 1809.[2]
He married, 19 Dec 1764, Rebecca Clark, daughter of Dea. Samuel Clark. She was born circa 1737 (calculated from age at death), and died 11 Apr 1779, Townsend, MA, in her 43rd year.
Marriage intentions were published 16 Oct 1780, Shrewsbury, MA for him and Lydia Rice "of Townsend".[3] He married Lydia (Randall) Price. She was born 1742, Lunenburg, MA, and died 1816. She had married firstly, before 1780, Townsend, MA, Maj. Henry Price.
Pierce says the following:[4]
- His second wife was the widow of Major Henry PRICE, the first deputy grand master of Masons in America. During the Revolutionary was Levi was an officer in the commissary department with the rank of lieutenant. He was a man of much mechanical ingenuity and a manufacturer of agricultural tools. His children were all born in Townsend.

Aaron Whitney, b. 13 Sep 1772; m.(1) Phebe Duncklee; m.(2) Olive Lund. vi. Sewel Whitney, b. 16 Jun 1774; d. Lansingburgh, NY; "drowned by being accidentally knocked from the deck of a sloop."
