Family:Whitney, John (1806-1873)
John8 Whitney (Joseph Glazier7, Abner6, Samuel5, William4, Nathaniel3, John2, John1), son of Joseph Glazier7 and Levina (Dunn) Whitney, was born 12 Sep 1806,[1] Ashburnham, MA, and died 4 May 1873.
Marriage intentions were published 5 May 1832, Westminster, MA, for him "2d" and Eliza Cushing "of Ashburnham".[2] He "of Westminster" married 9 May 1832, Ashburnham, MA, Eliza Cushing.[3] She was born 18 Apr 1815,[4] and died 1 Sep 1882.
John Whitney, son of Joseph G. and Lavina (Dunn) Whitney. He resided some years in Westminster and subsequently in Ashburnham, where he was a pioneer manufacturer of chairs. In his daily life and in business he ignored contention and enjoyed the rewards of peace and honorable conduct. He resided Westminster and Ashburnham, MA.

Joseph Whitney, b. 15 Jun 1838, Westminster, MA;[8] d. 26 Nov 1838, Westminster, MA, aged 5 months 11 days.[9] iv. Wilbur Fisk Whitney, b. 9 Dec 1839; m. Emeline S. Jewell. v. John Edwin Whitney, b. 28 Oct 1841;[10] d. 21 Nov 1856. vi. Timothy Merritt Whitney, b. 2 Dec 1844;[11] d. 22 Nov 1856. vii. George Edward Whitney, b. 20 Apr 1847;[12] d. 30 Oct 1880, unmarried. viii. Orange Whitney, b. 16 Mar 1849, Westminster, MA;[13] m. Laura M. Collester. ix. Sarah A.
