Abraham5 Whitney (John4, Joseph3, John2, John1), son of John4 and Sarah (Cutting) Whitney, was born 8 Aug 1716, Watertown, MA,[1] and died between 1796 and 1797, Framingham, MA.[2]
Marriage intentions for him and Tabitha Allen were published 17 Jun 1741, Weston, MA.[3] He married, 17 Jun 1742 or 20 Jan 1742/3, Weston, MA, Tabitha Allen "both of Weston",[4] daughter of Joseph and Abigail (-----) Allen. She was born 26 Oct 1722, Watertown, MA. She was born circa 1731, calculated from age at death. She died 28 Jul 1821, Westminster, MA, aged 90 years.
Abraham Whitney was admiited a member of the church in Weston, 31 May 1741.[5] Tabitha Allen was admitted a church member in 1741, "now w[ife] of Abr[aham] [Whitney]".[6]
He was admitted to the church in Weston, member 31 May 1741 (p.429, Weston VR), and resided in Weston in 1781.
Pierce says the following:[7]
- His father John4 was one of the original proprietors of Paris, Me., in 1735. Abraham was given this land in 1771.
Barry says the following:[8]
- Tradition supposes Eph. to have been son [actually, he was a nephew--RLW] of Abraham, a blacksmith, who had a br. John, and lived in the, S. part of the town, and was living, 1796; his widow is noticed, 1797. T. Rec.

Abraham Whitney, b. between 24 Sep 1758 and 30 Sep 1758 at Weston, MA, calculated from age at baptism; bapt. 8 Oct 1758, b. w. before last.[25] Perhaps he was the Abraham Whitney who married, 10 Mar 1780, Brookline, MA, Abigail Grafton.[26] x. Tabitha Whitney, b. circa 13 Jan 1760, Weston, MA, calculated from age at baptism; bapt. 3 Feb 1760, 3 weeks old;[27] d. 14 Jun 1818, Liberty, VA; m. circa 1781, Charles Markle.
