Samuel8 Whitney (Smyrna7, Samuel6, Samuel5, William4, Nathaniel3, John2, John1), son of Smyrna7 and Ruth (Whitney) Whitney; born 9 Mar 1821, Westminster, MA,[1] and died 30 Mar 1868, Fitchburg, MA.
He married, 29 Nov 1848, Westminster, MA, Carolina Abby Puffer,[2] daughter of Samuel Read and Polly (Wood) Puffer. She was born 28 Feb 1823 or 1822.
He was born in Westminster, MA. He was a prominent church member, was very liberal with his money, giving large amounts for religious work and to charity. He was very successful in his business, that of manufacturing paper. He resided Ashland, and Fitchburg, MA.
