II. James Stillman Whitney, b. at Argyle, N. Y., 20 Feb. 1848; a harness-maker; married at Oswego, N. Y., 5 Jan. 1871, by Rev. Mr. Lowery, to Ellen Eliza Smith, born at Oswego about 1850, dau. of James and Eliza Smith. He died at Oswego, 8 Feb. 1872, of consumption; and was buried in Oswego Rural Cemetery. She died at Oswego, of typhoid fever, 13 Feb. 1872, aged 22 years; and, being of the Roman Catholic faith, was buried in the old 5th Street Cemetery. They had no children.
