Horace L.⁷ Whitney (Leonard⁶, Joseph⁵, Joseph⁴, Joseph³, Jonathan², John¹), son of Leonard⁶ and Philanda (Blood) Whitney, was born 17 Jul 1845, NH, and died 7 Dec 1884.

He married, 17 Jan 1871, Rutland, VT, Ethelinda Ellis also recorded as "Esther T.", daughter of Timothy and Hannah Hibbard (Richardson) Ellis.^[1] She was born about 1853, Keene or Westport, NH, and died after 1897. She married secondly, 17 Oct 1885, Fitchburg, MA, George H. Chase, son of Henry A. and Harriet A. (-----) Chase, who was born about 1851, Boston, MA.^[2] She married "2d", 25 Mar 1897, Winchendon, MA, Charles E. Livermore, who was born about 1856, New Salem, MA, son of Morris and Maria (Young) Livermore.^[3]

i.	Lillian W.8 Whitney, b. ca. 1873, Fitchburg, MA; m. 6 Dec 1893, Brookline, MA [also recorded in Fitchburg, MA], Frank Phillips, b. ca. 1870, Calais, ME, son of John and Mary (-----) Phillips.[4]
