- "In the Name of God Amen. I Hezekiah Whitney of Norwalk in the County of Fairfield and State of Connecticut not being in health but of perfect memory ( blessed be God therefore ) and calling to mind the certainty of death with the uncertainty of human Life. Do this 17th day of March and in the year of our Lord A domini 1785 make and publish this my last Will and Testament in manner and form following / that is to say / after my just debts and funeral Charges are first paid out of my moveable Estate
- "Imprimis I give and bequeath unto my loving Wife Margaret Whitney the use and Improvement of all the remainder of my Estate both the real and personal during her natural life
- "Imprismis. I give and bequeath unto my loving Son / Hezekiah and to his heirs and assigns forever after the death of my said Wife Two shares or double portion of all my real and personal Estate forever.
- "Imprimis I give and bequeath unto my Six daughters viz Bety Abigail, Ruth, Hannah. Peggy & Sarah and to their heirs and Aassigns forever all the remr of my Estate both real & personal to be equally divided between them. I do hereby constitute and appoint my sd Son Hezekiah Whitney and my Son in Law James Beatys Executors of this my last Will and Testament. - "In the name of God Amen ye 21st day of March An : Dom 1740/1 I Joseph Whitne of ye town of Norwalk in ye County of Fairfield & Colony of Connecticut Mill wright being very Sick and weak in body but of perfect mind and understanding thanks be given unto God. Therefore Calling unto mind ye Mortality of my Body and Knowing yt [that] it is Appointed for all men Once to Die, do make & Ordain this my last will and Testament that is to say principlally and first of all I give & and Recommend my Soul into ye hands of God yt gave it and my body I Recommend to ye Earth to be buried in Decent Christian Buriel at ye Discretion of my Extr Nothing Doubting but at ye Generall Resurrection I Shall Receive ye Same Again by ye Mighty power of God. And as Touching Such worldly Estate wherewith it has pleased God to bless me in this life I give Demise [or Deuise] and Dispose of ye Same in ye following manner and form that is to say After my Just debts and funerall Charges are paid and Satisfyed. Imprimis I give and Bequeath to Hannah my Dearly Beloved wife ye use and Improvement of one half of my Dwelling house barn and Homstead Land and one third part of my Lands Druing her Naturall life and one third part of my Moveable Estate Excepting ye Cooper Tools hereafter given to my son David and ye money I lately Sold my Gristmill and lands thereto Appertaining for. of which sd Money I give to my sd wife Hannah One hundred pounds for Ever.

- "Be it Known to all men by these presents yt wheareas I Joseph Whitne of Norwalk in ye County of Fairfield and Colony of Connecticut in new England mill wright have made and Declared my last will and Testament in writing bearing date ye 21st day of march Anno Domini 1740/1 I ye sd Joseph Whitne by this present Codicil do Ratify and Confirm my sd Last will and Testament and whereas I had forgot to make due provision in sd will how one fourth part of ye Charge Arising Annually for ye Support and Maintenance of my Honoured Mother Mrs Eliza Whitne During ye full term of her Naturall life which I am Under Obligations to Discharge ye which Charge, my will is, shall be annually paid and Satisfyed by my four sons vizt Hezekiah, Joseph, David and Abraham, During as Aforesd and also do give and Bequeath to my sd son Hezekiah all my Carpenters Tools and my will and meaning is that this Codicil or Schedule be, and be Adjudged to be part & parcel of my sd last will and Testament and yt all things herein mentioned and Contained be faithfully and Truly performed and as fully and Amply in Every Respect as if ye same were so Declared and set down in my sd last will and Testament as Witness my hand and Seal ye 3d day of April Anno Domini 1741.

- "In the Name of God Amen I Margaret Whitney of Norwalk in the County of Fairfield and State of Connecticut being weak in body but of perfect memory blessed be God therefor knowing the certainty of death with the uncertainty of human life do this 10th day of July and in the year of our Lord 1795 make this my last Will and testament in manner and form following (that is to say) after my just debts and funeral Charges are first paid out my Estate –
- Item I give and bequeath unto my loving daughter Peggy the wife of James Beaty my Cow
