Gr.-granddaughter of Abishai Brown and Mary Farrar, his wife.
[p.29] Abishai Brown was a minute man at Lexington, and with him were his brothers, Jacob and
Zachariah. He commanded a company that marched to Cambridge in 1775, and served at the
siege of Boston. In the Rhode Island campaign he was promoted to major. He gave valuable civil
service at Concord, where he was born in 1746. He died in 1779 and his grave is marked by the
Sons of the American Revolution.

Granddaughter of Thomas Whitney and Fannie Jennings, his wife.
Great-granddaughter of Peter Whitney, who marched from Wellington at the Lexington Alarm
and served at the siege of Boston. He was sergeant in the New York campaign of 1776, and in
1777 served as midshipman on the frigate ôTrumbull.ö He was a pensioner when he died in
Vermont in 1827, aged eighty-nine.

Gr.-gr.-granddaughter of David Whitney and Elizabeth Hyatt, his wife.
David Whitney served as a mariner and in his sloop he carried at Norwalk dispatches and supplies
for the army. He died at New Canaan in 1816, aged ninety-five.

Gr.-granddaughter of Jonathan Bartholomew and Mary Hotchkiss, his wife.
Gr.-gr.-granddaughter of Abraham Bartholomew and Eunice Orvis, his wife.
Abraham Bartholomew served in Sheldon's Light Dragoons in the defense of the Hudson. He died
in 1785 at Farmington, where he was born in 1732.

Granddaughter of Washington Armstrong and Mary Hunt, his wife.
Gr.-granddaughter of Samuel Armstrong and Nancy Allen, his wife.
Samuel Armstrong entered the army as ensign and served to the close of the war. He was with his
brother, John, when that colonel was killed at Harlem Heights. He was a member of the Cincinnati
and died at Boston in 1810, aged fifty-six.
