David Whitney, (1721-1816), served as a mariner, and in his sloop he carried despatches and
supplies for the army under the guns of the British ships. He was born at Norwalk, and died at
New Canaan.
David Hyatt Whitney, (1761-1834), served as a private in the Connecticut Line under Col.
Stephen St. John. He was born at Norwalk, Conn., and died at Walton, N. Y., where he was a
pensioner.

Moses Raymond, (1752-1838), served as a private in Capt. Seth Seymour's company, 1776-7, for
service in New York. He was an invalid pensioner, 1833, residing in Litchfield county. He was
born at Norwalk and died at Bethlehem.

David Johnson, (1715-99), was at the battle of Bunker Hill, as were three of his sons. He was
born at Andover and died at Leominster.
Josiah Johnson, (1746-1827), served as a private in Capt. Nahum Ward's company, Col. David
Wells' Hampshire county regiment, in the Burgoyne campaign. He was lieutenant under Capt.
Sylvanus Rice and Col. Israel Chapin, 1779.
Martin Severance, (1718-1810), who had acted as a scout in the early wars and suffered
imprisonment, served for the freedom of the colonies in the Revolution.
Martin Severance, Jr., (1755-1843), served as private, 1777, and as sergeant, 1778, in Capt.
Daniel Pomeroy's company.

Reuben Wadsworth, (1753-1836), served at Bunker Hill in the expedition to Canada and in the
Burgoyne campaign. He received a pension and died at Hartford.
