Daniel Osborn, (1736-1818), was a minute man at the Lexington Alarm. He responded liberally to
calls for aid for the army and acted as selectman for the town of Windsor, Conn., where he was
born and died.
Luke Brooks served in Capt. William Whitcomb's company Col. James Prescott's regiment, at the
Lexington Alarm. He was born in Concord, 1731; died in Stow, Mass.
Stephen Brooks served at the Lexington Alarm and at White Plains, 1776. He was born in Stow,
1756; died in Templeton, Mass.
Daniel Rugg, Jr., (1743-1830), entered the army as lieutenant, 1776, and commanded a company
under Col. Josiah Whitney, 1779. He was born and died in Lancaster, Mass.

[p.100] Isaac Goodspeed, (1731-1826), served in Capt. Ephraim Stockwell's company, Col. Job
Cushing's regiment, 1777, to re nforce the army at Bennington. He was born in Barnstable; died
in Hubbardston, Mass.
John Whitcomb, (1713-85), was appointed, 1775, first major general by the Provincial Congress
and during the battle of Bunker Hill had command at Lechmere Point. He declined a commission
from the Continental Congress, 1776, on account of age. He was born and died in Bolton,
Mass.

Stephen Bryant, (1756-1823), was placed on the pension roll of York county, 1818, for service of
private in the Massachusetts Line. He was born and died in Saco.
Samuel Banks, Jr., (1731-87), served as sheriff and held other offices of trust in Saco throughout
the Revolution. He was born and died in Biddeford.

Joseph Riggs, Jr., (1746-1822), took the Oath of Fidelity in Derby, 1777, and 1779 was appointed
by the Assembly lieutenant of the Fourth Company, Second Regiment.
