Amos Fairbanks, (1737-1809), served as lieutenant at the Lexington Alarm and subsequently as
captain. He was a member of the Committee of Safety, 1780. He was born in Harvard, where he
died.

Joseph Dixon, (1754-1839), enlisted as a private, 1777, for the war. He was assigned to the
quartermaster's department and in 1779 became brigade forage master. He was at Monmouth,
wounded in service and received an honorable discharge, 1782. In 1832 he was placed on the
pension roll of Chenango county, N. Y., for service of captain in the Connecticut Continental
Line. He was born in Lebanon, Conn.; died in Smyrna, N Y.
