Silas Alden, (1736-1826), served as ensign at the Lexington Alarm and as lieutenant at the taking
of Dorchester Heights. He was born in Needham, Mass., died there.

Raymond De Guiscard's company of Mass. militia.

David Whitney, (1721-1816), served as a mariner and in his sloop he carried supplies and
despatches for the army under the guns of the British ships. He was born in Norwalk; died in New
Canaan.

David Hyatt Whitney, (1761-1834), served as a private in the Connecticut line. He was born in
Norwalk, Conn.; died in Walton, N. Y. His widow received a pension.
Moses Raymond, (1752-1838), served as a private in Capt. Seth Seymour's company, 1776 for
duty in New York. He was an invalid pensioner 1833, residing in Litchfield county. He was born
in Norwalk; died in Bethlehem.

horseman in North Carolina militia. He was born, 1755, in Orange Co., N. C.
Abner Hammond, (1750-1827), served as lieutenant of South Carolina State troops. He was born
in South Carolina; died in Milledgeville, Ga.
