Samuel Fifield, (1735-1812), who had served in the early wars, was a soldier at the battle of
Bennington. He was a member of the Committee of Safety. He was born in Kingston, N. H.; died
in Danville, Vt.

John Bean, (1751-1814), signed the Association Test, served as Justice of the Peace and as
sergeant of New Hampshire militia. He was born in Canterbury, N. H.; died in Wheelock, Vt.

Joshua Whitney, (1745-1808), entered the army as sergeant; was promoted lieutenant 1780, and
served to the close of the war. He was an original member of the Cincinnati of Connecticut. He
was born in Canaan, Conn., removed to Pittsfield, Mass., where he died.

James Colt, (1740-1809), commanded a company of minute men. He was appointed on the
Committee of Inspection of Pittsfield, to enforce resolutions of the Continental Congress. He was
born in Lyme, Conn.; died in Pittsfield, Mass.

Daniel Whitney, (1754-1834), enlisted 1775, under Capt. Hart Williams and was discharged on
account of sickness. He re-enlisted 1777; served at Ticonderoga and at Bayaduce under Capt.
Alexander McLellan. In 1818 he was allowed a pension for two years actual service, private
Massachusetts line. He was born in Gorham, Me., where he died.
Ichabod Hunt enlisted 1775 in Capt. Hart Williams's company. He was born in Falmouth, Mass.;
died 1822 in Unity, Me.
