Josiah Whitney, (1731-1806), who had served in the early wars commanded a regiment at the

Brigadier General at the close of the war.
Josiah Whitney, Jr., (1753-1827), served under his father. He was born in Harvard, Mass.; died in
Nelson, N. H.

Nathaniel Breed, (1728-1810), was educated in England, served as surgeon's mate at Bunker Hill
and subsequently as surgeon. He was born in Lynn, Mass.; died in Nelson, N. H.

Nathaniel Breed, Jr., enlisted, 1782, as a soldier from New Hampshire, where his name is found in
the census of 1790. He was born, 1753, in Eastham, Mass.
Ephraim Kingsbury, (1759-1826), served as a private in the New Hampshire militia to re-enforce
the garrison at Ticonderoga. He was born in Coventry, Conn.; died in Alstead, N. H.
Joseph Hatch, (1718-1802), was a minute man from Alstead, N. H., where he removed in 1774.
He was born in Tolland, Conn.

Abraham Harding, (1730-1819), served as lieutenant from Medway, Massachusetts, militia. He
was born in Medfield; died in Medway.
Reuben Gibson, (1725-1800), served on the Committee of Safety and was chairman, 1776. He
was born in Sudbury; died in Fitchburg.

Isaac Hixon, (1762-1852), served several enlistments as [p.217] private in the Massachusetts
militia. He was born and died in Medway.
Seth Hixon, (1734-1821), responded to the Lexington Alarm from Medway.
Samuel Tidd, (1741-91), was a minute man, 1775, and member of the Committee of Safety, 1781.
He was born in Lexington; died in Woburn.
Jacob Robinson, (1738-76), was a minute man at the Lexington Alarm. He was born and died in
Bedford.
Edward Learned, (1749-92), responded from Sherborn at the Lexington Alarm under Capt. Henry
Leland.
Moses Perry, (1719-1809), responded to the Lexington Alarm from Sherborn, where he was born
and died.
Peter Bullard, (1734-1809), gave financial aid to his native town of Sherborn.
