Henry Paddock (1751-1835) served as a private in the Dutchess County, New York militia. He was born in Stephentown; died in Oneida County, N. Y.

John Whitney (1754-1835) served as privateer and commanded the sloop ôWooster,ö 1777, for which service he received a pension. He was born and died in Branford, Conn.
Samuel Arnold (1746-1829) responded to the Lexington Alarm as a private in Capt. Jonathan Well's company, Col. George Pitkin's regiment, and, 1779, in Captain Cone's company. He was born in East Hartford, Conn.

Thomas Wyllys (1755-1838) responded to the Lexington Alarm from East Hartford, Conn., as private in Capt. George Pitkin's company. In 1832 he was placed on the pension roll of East Hartford, Conn., where he died.

Amos Graves (1753-1825) enlisted, 1780, as a private in Capt. Samuel Law's company, Col. Benjamin Simond's Berkshire County, Massachusetts militia. He was born in East Haddam, Conn.; died in Pennsylvania.

Blackleach Burritt (1740-94), a graduate of Yale, was a patriot preacher, and was so obnoxious to the British that he was captured and confined in the old sugar-house. While a prisoner he was nursed by the father of Washington Irving. He was born in Stratford, Conn.

[p.308] Andrew Canady (1729-88) responded to the Lexington Alarm as corporal in Capt. Ebenezer Tucker's company. He was born in Boston, Mass.; died in New Canaan, N. Y.
John Slack (1755-1823) responded to the Lexington Alarm as a private in Capt. Aaron Smith's company, Col. William Heath's regiment of militia. He was born in Needham, Mass.
William Dutcher (1741-94) commanded the upper Phillipsburg associated company of Westchester militia.
John Denny served as lieutenant in the New York State militia. He died in 1812.
Gideon Wells (1719-1805) served two years in the militia. He was born and died in Stratford, Conn.
