John Chilton (1739-77) commanded a company in the 3rd Virginia regiment, under Col. Thomas
Marshall, and was killed at Brandywine. He was born in Westmoreland County, Va.

Joseph Blackwell (1715-87) served as lieutenant in Capt. John Chilton's company, 3rd Virginia
regiment, commanded by Col. Thomas Marshall. He was born in Northumberland County; died in
Fauquier County, Va.

lieutenant-colonel of militia. He was born and died in Prince William County, Va.

siege of Boston, the Burgoyne campaign, and the expedition to Rhode Island. He was promoted
brigadiergeneral at the close of the war. He was born in Stow; died in Ashby, Mass.

Benjamin Ayer (1763-1844) enlisted, 1780, for six months as a private in Captain Mills' company,
Col. Joseph Vose's Massachusetts regiment. In 1818 he applied for a pension which was allowed.
He was born in Little Falls now Hollis, Me.; died in Unity, Me.
Joseph Bartlett served as private, corporal and sergeant, 1775-80, Massachusetts troops. He was
born, 1725, in Plymouth, Mass.; died in Unity, Me.
Daniel Whitney (1754-1834) served several enlistments under different commands, 1775-80,
Massachusetts militia. He was born in York; died in Gorham, Me.
John Sanborn (1723-1802) in 1776, was a private in Capt. Richard Mayberry's company, Col.
Ebenezer Francis' Massachusetts regiment. He was born in Hampton Falls, N. H.; died in
Standish, Me.
Nathaniel Woodbury signed the Association Test in Salem, N. H., 1776, where in 1783 he died.
He was born in Beverly, Mass.
