Williams, Alicia Crane, "Alden Notes: Henry, the Non-Mayflower Alden," Mayflower Descendant, vol. XLIV (1994), pp. 27-30.

[p. 29]

12. WILLIAM4 ALDEN (Henry3, John2, Henry1), born at Needham, 1 July 1762 (VR, 2).
He married at Needham, 1 May 1788 (VR, 75, gives her as Susannah "Whiting of East Sudbury"), SUSANNA WHITNEY. The estate of Joseph Beals, late of East Sudbury, Mass., included the following heirs: William Dunton and wife Abigail; Isaac Whitney, Ontario County, New York, yeoman; William Alden and his wife Susannah; Mary Whitney, singlewoman, of Suffolk County; Elizabeth Whitney of East Sudbury (Middlesex Co. LR, 118:278--25 August 1795). Another deed, dated or recorded 24 May 1798, is at 128:536.
William perhaps lived in Needham in 1790. The DAR Patriot Index states that the William who married Susannah Whitney was a private with service in Massachusetts and Vermont, but gives no birth nor death dates.
Children of William and Susanna (Whitney) ALDEN, born at Needham (VR, 1-2):
