12. ROBERT WHITNEY, Knt. of Whitney, Herefordshire, Sheriff of Herefordshire, son and heir. He married (1st) CONSTANCE AUDLEY (or TUCHET), daughter of James Tuchet (or Audley), Knt., 5th lord Audley (descendant of King John), by his 3nd wife, Eleanor, daughter of Edmund Holand, Earl of Kent [see TUCHET 12 for her ancestry]. They had one daughter, Johan. He married (2nd) Elsbeth Vaughan, daughter of Thomas Vaughan, of Hergest. They had two sons, James and Hugh, and three daughters, Eleanor (wife of Thomas Vaughan). Ellen (wife of John ap John), and Sibyl (wife of Roger ap Richard). He also had a daughter, Elsbeth (wife of John Pye), whose maternity is uncertain.

Brecon, by Denise, daughter of Thomas ap Philip Vaughan of Tyle-Glas. He married (1st) Eleanor Somerset, eldest daughter of Henry Somerset, Earl of Worcester. SIR ROGER VAUGHAN died before 25 Sept. 1514.

8. MAUD DE SAINT PHILIBERT, married before 1341 WARIN TRUSSELL, Knt., of Billesley, Warwickshire, Ravenstone, Buckinghamshire, Willaston, Cheshire, and Littel Canfield and Paglesham, Essex, younger son of William Trusell, Knt., of Kibblestone (in Stone), Staffordshire, Marston Trussell, Northamptonshire, and, in rigth of his wife, of Warmingham, Cheshire, by Maud, daughter and co-heiress of Warin de Mainwaring, Knt. He was evidently born before 1317, adult by 1337. They had one son, Lawrence, and three daughters, Maud, Frances (wife of Robert Salle, Knt. and William Clopton, knt.), and Elizabeth (wife of Nicholas Kyriell, Knt.). In 1341 they received a license to have mass celebrated in an oratory within their mabor of Billesley for two years. He served in the retinue of King Edward III at the Battle of Crecy in 1346 and during the subsequent siege of Calais. In 1347 he and his brother William acknowledged debts to Michael de Poynings and John de Wygan, citizen of London, to be levied, in default of payment, out of their lands and chattels in Berkshire. In 1359 he complained that he had been fined 60 pounds for enclosing Willaston manor in Wirral forest. She was co-heiress in 1361 to her nephew, John de Saint Philbert. SIR WARIN TRUSSELL died shortly befroe 12 Feb. 1365. In 1383 she conveyed her interest in the Saint Philibert manor of Farlington (in Sheriff Hutton), Yorkshire to her nephew, John Plaiz (or Place), Knt. She was buried at the church of the Minoresses in London before 1419.

9. LAWRENCE TRUSSELL, of Shottesbrook, Berkshire, and, in right of his wife, of Elmesthorpe and Swepstone, Leicestershire, and Bilton, Warwickshire, son and heir, born in or before 1356. He married before 1383 (date of property settlement) MAUD CHARNELS, daughter and heiress of Thomas Charnels, Knt., of Elmesthorpe, Leicestershire, by Maud, daughter and co-heiress of Henry Garnet, Knt. She was born before 1367. They had one son, William, Knt. In 1377 he released his rigth in the St. Philibert manor of Farlington (Sheriff Hutton), Yorkshire to Sir Brian de Stapleton, husband of his aunt, Alice de Saint Philibert. He served as a mainpernor in 1390 for Ralph de Stafford, husband of his neice, Maud Hastang. LAWRENCE TRUSSELL died shortly before 18 Sept. 1399. His widow, Maud, married (2nd) before Feb. 1400 Robert Litton, Knt. (died about April 1415), of Bolsover, Derbyshire and, in right of his wife, of Wennington, Essex, controller of the houehold of Henry IV, Knight of the Shire of Essex. She died before 29 Sept. 1409.

10. WILLIAM TRUSSELL, Knt., of Elmesthorpe and Swepstone, Leicestershier, Bilton, Warwickshire, etc., Sheriff of Staffordshire, Knight of the Shire for Leicestershire, son and heir, born about 1386-7 (aged 12 in 1399, aged 60 in 1446). He was heir in 1399 to his cousin, Margaret Trussell, wife of Fulk Pembridge, Knt., by which he inherited the manors of Kibblestone (in Stone) and Acton Trussell, Staffordshire, Eaton Hastings and Shottesbrook, Berkshire, Warmingham, Cheshire, and Marston Trussell, Northamptonshire. He married before March 1402 MARGERY LUDLOW, daughter of John Ludlow, Knt., of Stokesay, Hodnet, and Westbury, Shropshire by Isabel, daughter of Ralph Lingen, Knt. They had one son, Thomas, and two daughters, Isabel and Joan (wife of Eustace Whitney). He fought at the Battle of Agincourt in 1415, in the retinue of Humphrey, Duke of Gloucester. In 1430 he went to France in the retinue of Richard Beauchamp, Earl of Warwick. She died before Sept. 1448. SIR WILLIAM TRUSSELL died 16 (or 23) Jan. 1464.
