Page 131. R. Schuyler Hubbard, MD, .... On 15 Nov 1881 he mar Helen Palmer, dau. of William L. and Amelia (Whitney) Palmer of Northfield, Ohio. William L. Palmer was b a t old Windsor, Hartford Co, Conn, aand came in 1832 to Ohio where he settled in Summit Co, but he now lives in Bedford with his dau. ....

Pages 767-769. Retire Grove Strong was b 25 June 1797 in Stafford, Conn, and when 18 years old came to Cuyahoga Co and entered the employ of his father's uncle, John S. Strong, who had come from Vt in 1816 and for whom Strongsville township of the County was named. At the end of two years he was given his choice of a farm in Strongsville township, and settled on it where he lived the rest of his life and d 14 May 1859. He mar 24 June 1819 in this township Vina W. Whitney, who was b in Marlborough, Vt 14 June 1802 and d at her home here 2 June 1842, dau of Deacon Whitney. Retire mar 2nd on 5 May 1844 Orra M. Merrill, who d 9 June 1877. Retire and his first wife had thirteen children of whom seven reached adulthood: Marcia A., Mary D., Sanford S., David Merrick, Harriet E., Vina W., and Newton G. David M., known as Merrick Strong, is one of the well-to-do farmers and highly respected citizens of Strongsvile township, where he was b 22 Aug 1829. He mar on 25 Oct 1853 Almira S. Bryant, b Nelson, NH 29 Aug 1833, dau of Francis S. and Betsey E. (Sprague) Bryant, who came from NH to Ohio in 1833. David M. and Almira have had five children: Francis G., Charles M., Hattie E., Mary A., and Arthur B. He owns a fine farm on 154 acres, and for eight years was township trustee. He and his wife are both members of the First Congregational Church at Strongsville where he has been a deacon for more than 25 years, and for 20 years was Sunday-school superintendent.
