He was born in Upton, worked on his father's farm, and at his death came into possession of one-half of it. He served as a soldier in the Upton Company, com- manded by Capt. Woods, in the Revolutionary war. Was an honorable and genial man. He was much given to story telling, especially of the war, of which he had a great memory. He d. Sept. 29, 1827; res.
