Northrup, A. Judd, The Northrup-Northrop Genealogy: A Record of the Known Descendants of Joseph Northrup, Who Came from England in 1637, and Was One of the Original Settlers of Milford, Conn. In 1639. With Lists of Northrups and Northrops in the Revolution (1908).

41 HANNAH-4 NORTHRUP (James-3, Joseph-2, Joseph-1), b. Aug. 20, 1729, Ridgefield; d. March 20, 1778; m. Stephen Olmstead, Aug. 23, 1747, at Ridgefield. He d. March 9, 1814?? in his 95th year. i Stephen-5, b. March 8, 1748; m. Lucy Hatch. ii James, b. Sept. 18, 1749; m. Charity Weeks. iii Hannah, b. Aug. 20, 1751; m. Joseph Cooley, of Ridgefield, Conn. iv Nehemiah, b. Jan. 7, 1754; m. Elizabeth Hatch. v Anna, b. Jan. 19, 1756; m. May 3, 1786, Thomas Seymour (b. at Ridgefield, Dec. 20, 1757), s. of Thomas and Sarah (Rockwell) Seymour. Settled in N. Wilton, Conn. She d. Oct. 9, 1849. vi Matthew, b. March 7, 1760; m. Dec. 22, 1783, Sarah Whitney (b. July 23, 1759). Farmer. Served in Revolutionary War; was on guard at the execution of Andr,. vii Esther, b. May 3, 1762; m. March 8, 1786, Sands Raymond, of Salem, N. Y. She d. June 16, 1849. viii Nathaniel, b. May 27, 1767; m. Sarah Sprague, of Warren, Conn. He d. in Alford, Mass., Apr., 1858, aged 91. Served in Revolution. ix Jeremiah, b. (???); d. in Revolutionary War. x Thaddeus, b. Dec. 7, 1767; m. Lydia Reed (or Read). Settled in Green River, N. Y.


64 SARAH-4 NORTHRUP (Gamaliel-3, Daniel-2, Joseph-1), b. Apr. 29, 1728, Ridgefield; m. May 31, 1750, John Whitney (b. Jan. 17, 1726-7; d. Jan. 20, 1782), s. of Joseph and Elizabeth (Keeler) Whitney. She d. Dec. 11, 1781. Both d. of smallpox at Ridgebury, and buried in Ridgebury Cemetery. [N.B.: Sarah Northrup married John Keeler, not Whitney, son of Joseph and Elizabeth (Whitney) Keeler.--RLW] i Sarah-5, b. July 12, 1751; m. Noah Starr. ii John, b. Jan. 10, 1753; m. Polly Olmsted.

Y., and settled and owned land at Tower Hill, in the town of Amenia, in that county. M. Elizabeth Keeler, 11th child of Daniel and Hannah (Whitney) Keeler (b. Oct. 19, 1743, d. July 29, 1822). D. July 29, 1826, and buried at Lithgow. 178 i William S.-5, b. Apr. 3, 1769. ii Hannah, b. Feb. 9, 1771; m. Ezekiel Palmer: had Elizabeth, who m. William Benham, whose dau. Nattie m.
