Newman, pastor of the Garrettson Methodist Episcopal Church, to William Leonard Yates, who was born at New Hackensack, in Fishkill, N.Y., 3 May 1830, son of John and Maria (Medler) Yates, afterward of Poughkeepsie, N.Y. They lived at New Hamburgh, N.Y., for one year and eight months; then settled at 6 Tivoli Street, Albany; and were living there in Aug. 1874, when he was a letter-carrier in the Albany post-office.

Wright, Congregational, to Charles Walter Bates, a salesman, whose parents lived in Norwalk. He was born in Clarksfield, Ohio, 9 July 1850, son of Walter and Susan (Mead) Bates. They settled in Medina Street, Norwalk, and were living there in 1874.
