6538 I. Margaret Louise Whitney, b. in Lawrence Street, Albany, N.Y., 20 Oct. 1839; married in Albany, 3 Feb. 1857, by Rev. John P. Newman, pastor of the Garrettson Methodist Episcopal Church, to William Leonard Yates, who was born at New Hackensack, in Fishkill, N.Y., 3 May 1830, son of John and Maria (Medler) Yates, afterward of Poughkeepsie, N.Y. They lived at New Hamburgh, N.Y., for one year and eight months; then settled at 6 Tivoli Street, Albany; and were living there in Aug. 1874, when he was a letter-carrier in the Albany post-office. 14467
6539 II. James Lewis Whitney, b. in Lawrence Street, Albany, N.Y., 20 Nov. 1841; was living at 6 Tivoli Street, Albany, in Aug. 1874, unmarried; a fireman on the N.Y. C. & H. R. Railroad.
6540 III. Solomon Whitney, b. in Lansing Street, Albany, N.Y., 23 Jan. 1843; died there, 27 Jan. 1846; and was buried in the Albany Rural Cemetery.

6542 II. Louise Janet Whitney, b. in Norwalk, Ohio, 9 Jan. 1853; married at her mother's house in Norwalk, 7 March 1871, by Rev. C. E. Wright, Congregational, to Charles Walter Bates, a salesman, whose parents lived in Norwalk. He was born in Clarksfield, Ohio, 9 July 1850, son of Walter and Susan (Mead) Bates. They settled in Medina Street, Norwalk, and were living there in 1874. 14471

Royal Balcom, Episcopal, to Shepherd Jay Patrick, a locomotive-engineer, who was born in Norwalk, 16 Feb. 1852, son of Benjamin Dean and Eliza Purdy (Maxwell) Patrick, of Norwalk.
