Chil. of John and Sarah (Whitney) Parsell. 442

1606 I. Hezekiah Parsell, married, and settled at New Paltz, N.Y.; was living when his father died, in 1835; and has since died in New Paltz.
1607 II. Thomas Parsell, lived at Esopus, N.Y., and at New Paltz Landing, and went from there to Norwalk, Conn.
1608 III. Mary Parsell, lived with her uncle, Jeremiah Whitney; married ----- Pettibone, of New Paltz, N.Y., and died there.

1609 I. Prudence Whitney, b. 25 Feb. 1789; went with her parents, to Shelby, N.Y., in 1837; returned, with her mother, in 1843, after the death of her father, to Plattekill, N.Y., and remained there for several years; but finally went west again, and died at the house of her brother, Jesse Whitney, at Fairport, N.Y., in "Oct. 1852, aged 63 years," and was buried near her father, in the Friends Cemetery at Shelby. For many years she bore with exemplary patience and resignation, the helplessness and suffering caused by the disease, articular rheumatism, which finally brought about her death.
1610 II. Anna Whitney, b. in Westchester Co., N.Y., 7 Feb. 1791; married, in Jan. 1806, at the Valley, in Plattekill, N.Y., by the Friends' ceremony, to James Merritt, a farmer, who was born in Westchester Co., N.Y., 26 Dec. 1779, son of Jeremiah and Bethany (Green) Merritt. They lived at various places, chiefly in Plattekill, Rochester, Wawarsing, and Esopus, N.Y. They were members of the Friends' Monthy Meeting at Rosendale, N.Y., and recommended by that to the Marlborough Monthy Meeting, 20 of 6th mo. 1815, and again to the Meeting at Rosendale Plains, 23 of 6th mo. 1841, having already moved. He died at Esopus, 12 March 1842, and was buried in the Friends' Cemetery at Rosendale. She was living, 5300
