Henry Fitch Whitney, b. in Wilton, Conn., 13 Nov. 1810; a blacksmith; married at New Baltimore, Ohio, Harriet Culverson; married (2nd), 6 Feb. 1842, at Lebanon, Ill., Ann Williams, who died in childbed, at Lebanon, 10 Jan. 1843, and was buried in Lebanon, with her son, a few days old; married (3rd), 3 March 1844, Cynthia Carillane, who, after the birth of two children, deserted him, and he was afterward divorced from her. He settled in East St. Louis, Ill., and there died 2 March 1853, and was buried in Lebanon, Ill., near his second wife.

II. Charles Whitney, b. in Wilton, Conn., 23 Sept. 1812; a black-smith and farmer; married, 18 Nov. 1840, at East Townsend, Ohio, by Rev. Records W. Vining, Baptist, to Roxana Malvina Palmer, born in Oriskany, N.Y. 12 Nov. 1816, dau. of Lory and Elizabeth (Mott) Palmer. He left his father's house in 1831; lived in Milan, Ohio, for about eight years; and then moved to East Townsend, Ohio, where they were living in 1873, having been members of the Baptist Church for a third of a century.

III. James Davis Whitney, b. in Wilton, Conn., 22 June 1814; a farmer; married, Ap. 1834, in Licking Co., Ohio, Hannah Pugh, born 6 Nov. 1818, dau. of Abram and Sarah (Asbury) Pugh, of Virginia. They lived in Kirkersville, Ohio, for seven years, and then settled in Bloomfield, Ohio, where they were living in 1873.

George Whitney, b. in Wilton, Conn., 14 Feb. 1817; a shoe-maker; married, 5 Ap. 1838, at Shelby, Ohio, by Hugh Gambell, Esq. to Catharine Saltzgaber, born in Schaefferstown, Penn., 17 Dec. 1822, dau. of Samuel and Catharine (Stober) Saltzgaber, who afterward removed to Shelby. They lived, first, in Richland Co., Ohio; then in Wisconsin, for 9 months; in Richland Co. again, for two years; moved to Vernon, Ohio, in 1860, and lived there seven years; and finally returned to Shelby, where they were living in Aug. 1874.
