WHITNEY, Hamilton S. - Private. Enlisted 16 Nov `61 at Albany, Albany Co., NY at age 18. Mustered in 7 Dec `61. Re-enlisted 1 Jan `64. Married Elizabeth Owens while home on his veteran furlough. Returned to Plymouth. Captured 20 April `64 at Plymouth, NC. Paroled 3 March `65. Transferred 28 May `65 to Battery L, Third NY Artillery.

WHITNEY, W. Adolphus - Bugler. Enlisted 21 Nov `61 at Wellsville, Allegany Co., NY at age 18. Mustered in 7 Dec `61 as a Private. Re-enlisted 1 Jan `64. Appointed Bugler, 1 Jan `65. Transferred 28 May `65 to Battery L, Third NY Artillery.
