Cyrenius Augustus Layton, b. at St John's, in Clay, Ohio, 5 May 1852; a lawyer; married at Wapakoneta, Ohio, 17 Feb. 1874, Esther Carlisle Rogan, whose mother then lived at Wapakoneta, her father having died at Thornton, Ind., 10 Ap. 1869. She was born at Bloomington, Ill., 26 March 1857, dau. of Thomas and Ellen (Owens) Rogan. He was admitted to practice, in the Circuit Court of Ohio, 5 Sept 1873; but in Feb. 1875 was travelling for an agricultural implement firm, his residence being at Wapakoneta.
