I. James Oscar Whitney, b. in Washington, D. C., 30 Nov. 1825; a contractor; married 21 Sept 1853, by Rev. Robert D. Woodley, Roman Catholic, at the house of her brother, I. W. I. Moore, at Moore's Landing, on the Potomac, in St Mary's Co., Md., to Sallie Maria Moore, born eight miles from Leonardtown Court House, Md., 20 Jan. 1832, dau. of Warren and Maria (Greenwell) Moore, both of whom died before her marriage. He died in Washington, D. C., 8 Sept. 1859, and was buried in the Congressional Cemetery. She was appointed clerk in the U. S. Treasurer's office, 20 Jan. 1870, and in April 1874, still retained the position, residing in Washington.

I. Sarah Elizabeth Erety, b. in Washington, D. C., 11 Oct 1826; married 4 March 1847, at the house of her step-father, John Hartwell, at Toulmainville, near Mobile, Ala., by Rev. Robert Nall, to John Heald. She died in Mobile, 19 Sept 1848, and was buried there, in Magnolia Cemetery. He was living in Lowell, Mass., in 1874.
