5384 VIII. Milliard Filmore Whitney, b. at Montpelier, Vt., 22 Feb. 1844; died at Montpelier, 19 Aug. 1844, and was buried there.

5385 I. William Martin Alexander, b. at Morristown, Vt., 11 Ap. 1829; a carpenter and joiner; married at Sterling, now Morristown, Vt., 9 June 1850, Louisa Lucy Dike, whose father then lived at Sterling, now Morristown. She was born at Sterling, now Johnson, Vt., 1 Feb. 1832, dau. of Zoroaster Robert and Amanda Priscilla (Eaton) Dike. They settled at Morristown, and were living there in 1873. 13337
5386 II. Freeman Royal Alexander, b. at Wolcott, Vt., 1 Feb. 1830; married at Morristown, Vt., 6 Nov. 1853, Elvira Baker, dau. of Arad and Mary Kimball (Bishop) Baker, of Morristown, where she was born 3 Ap. 1836. They settled at Morristown; where he died 10 March 1871, and was buried at Cady's Falls, in the same town. He was a member of Co. E, 13th Vt. Volunteers; took part in the battle of Gettysburgh; returned unhurt, but with ruined health, and never recovered. She was living at Morristown in 1873. 13339
5387 III. Lucius Philander Alexander, b. at Morristown, Vt., 10 Nov. 1831; a mechanic; enlisted at Middletown, Conn., 10 Sept. 1862, as a corporal, in Co. G, 24th Reg., Conn. Vol. Infantry; and died at New Orleans Barracks Hospital, from typhoid fever, 30 June 1863, unmarried. He was buried about five miles from New Orleans.
5388 IV. Charles Monroe Alexander, b. at Morristown, Vt., 10 June 1833; a farmer; married at Waterbury Centre, Vt., 10 June 1865, by Rev. George Whitney, Methodist, to Mary Allen Bennett, dau. of Joseph Howland and Lucy Smith (Simmons) Bennett, of Stowe, Vt., where she was born 20 July 1832. He dwelt at Stowe for eight years, from 1854 to 1862; at Wolcott, Vt., for two years, from 1862 to 1864; at Morristown, nine years; and then moved to Johnson, Vt., where he was living in 1873. 13342
5389 V. Byron Whitney Alexander, b. at Wolcott, Vt., 3 Sept 1835; married Margaret C. Creig, of Johnson, Vt.; died at Morristown, Vt., 4 July 1858, and was buried at Cady's Falls, in that town.
5390 VI. Laura Maria Alexander, b. at Morristown, Vt., 22 Aug. 1840; married there, 29 Ap. 1863, George Tinker, a farmer, son of James and Jane (Hunkins) Tinker, of Fletcher, Vt., where he was born 22 June 1840. They dwelt at Morristown till the beginning of 1864; and then settled at Fletcher, where they were living in 1874. 13343
