p. 120, #1585: Susanna⁶ WHITNEY was born 9 Apr 1783, Gorham, ME, according to Gorham vital records.

p. 120, #1586: Sally⁶ WHITNEY was born 22 Oct 1793, Gorham, ME, according to Gorham vital records.

p. 120, #618:: Change the line of descent, replacing the first "Nathaniel" with "John". He was born in Eastham, MA, 7 Nov 1741, according to Eastham vital records. He married, 24 Jan 1771, Brookline, MA, Hannah TURNER, according to Boston vital records. Delete son Josiah⁶ WHITNEY. The births of the remaining children cannot be found in vital records, but may be correct, for onomastic reasons. John⁶, Eliab Turner⁶, and Margaret⁶ WHITNEY are supported as children by records in Quebec, Nova Scotia and New Brunswick.

p. 120, #618: Josiah⁵ WHITNEY lived in Gaspé (not Gasby), QC, according to records in the National Archives of Canada in Ottawa, found by a researcher hired by Ken Whitney. He then moved to Port Hawksbury, NS, and then to Salmon River, NB, where he died.

p. 120, #1587: Josiah WHITNEY does not belong in this family. He was Josiah⁵ WHITNEY who was baptized 7 Jun 1752, Biddeford, ME, #618 on page 62, according to Biddeford vital records. He and Elizabeth HARDING published their intentions of marriage on 16 Sep 1775, Gorham, ME, according to Gorham vital records.

p. 120, #620: Asa⁵ WHITNEY was born 17 Dec 1754, according to Maine Families in 1790, Vol. 3, pages 303-307. Presumably this happened in Biddeford, but the record of it does not appear in our extracts of Biddeford vital records.

p. 120, #620: Asa⁵ WHITNEY and Patience WESTON published their intentions of marriage on 15 Apr 1775, Gorham, ME, according to Gorham vital records. She was his first wife (not Flora -----). She was born 3 Dec 1751, daughter of Thomas and Abigail (-----) WESTON, and died 23 Dec 1784, Gorham, ME, aged 33 years, both according to Maine Families in 1790, Vol. 3, pages 303-307.

p. 120, #620: Asa⁵ WHITNEY married secondly, 14 Jul 1785, Gorham, ME, Phebe (HOPKINS) DAVIS, widow of Elijah DAVIS, according to Gorham vital records.

p. 120, #620: Phebe (HOPKINS) DAVIS was born 17 May 1759, Truro, MA, daughter of Constant and Phebe (PAINE) HOPKINS (not Stephen HOPKINS, the Signer), according to Maine Families in 1790'', Vol. 3, pages 303-307.

p. 120, #1597: Samuel⁶ WHITNEY was born 28 Aug 1777, Gorham, ME, according to Gorham vital records.
