Hon. Amasa8 Whitney (William7, William6, William5, William4, Nathaniel3, John2, John1), son of William7 and Anna (Heywood) Whitney, was born 19 Jun 1805, Gardner, MA,[1] and died 21 Jan 1871, Gardner, MA, aged 65 years 7 months 2 days, of consumption.[2]
He married firstly, 16 Apr 1829, Gardner, MA, Dolly Scollay.[3] She was born 8 Nov 1808, and died 25 Oct 1843, Gardner, MA, aged 34 years 11 months 13 days, of consumption.[4]
He married secondly, 25 Dec 1845, Gardner, MA, Lucy Coolidge, daughter of Joseph and Achsah (-----) Coolidge.[5] She was born 4 Nov 1814,[6] Gardner, MA, and died 25 Jan 1892, Gardner, MA, aged 77 years 2 months 17 days, of influenza.[7]
Hon. Amasa Whitney was a native of Gardner, MA, where he lived and died; was a well-to-do farmer. For four years he was town assessor, ten years overseer of the poor, and representative in the legislature one term. He resided Gardner, MA.
