Amasa7 Whitney (Samuel6, Elijah5, Abraham4, Isaiah3, Thomas2, John1), son of Samuel6 and Lucy (Handley) Whitney, was born 13 Jan 1813, Bolton, MA,[1] and died 29 Mar 1884, New Bedford, MA, aged 71 years 2 months, of apoplexy.[2]

He married firstly, 24 Sep 1837, New Bedford, MA, Susan W. Cannon "both of New Bedford".[3] She was born about 1814, and died 24 Feb 1841, New Bedford, MA, aged 26 years.[4]

He married secondly, 5 May 1857, New Bedford, MA, Maria Tamzen Snow, both of New Bedford, daughter of Jesse and Johanna (Cole) Snow.[5] She was born 11 Mar 1823, Truro, MA, and died 18 Jul 1868, New Bedford, MA, aged 45 years, of a tumor.[6]

He married thirdly, 10 Feb 1870, New Bedford, MA, or Shirley, MA, Nancy Stone (Barrett) Norris "of Shirley", daughter of Oliver and Betsey (Stone) Barrett.[7] She was born 2 May 1835, Lowell, MA, and died 22 Sep 1906, Townsend, MA [also recorded Malden, MA], aged 71 years 4 months 20 days, of cerebral hemorrhage paralytic form.[8] She had married firstly, 17 Apr 1857, Boston, MA, Oliver Ward Norris, who died 13 May 1861. She was buried in Townsend, MA.

He was a cooper, and resided New Bedford, MA.
