Amos1 Whitney, parentage unknown, was born about 1799, in Liverpool, England, and died after 1850, probably in Canterbury, NH.
He married firstly, before 1820, probably in England, Sarah Gordon. She was born say 1800, in England, and died after 1820 and before 1839, possibly in Portland, OR.
He married secondly, 28 Nov 1839, Canterbury, NH, Mary Fletcher.[1] She was born about 1802, NH, and died after 1850.
They lived in Liverpool, Lancashire, Portland, ME, and Canterbury, NH.

i. Amos Fabens2 Whitney, b. 23 Aug 1820, Portland, ME; m. Mary Olivia Prescott.
