Family:Whitney, Asa (c1795-1827)
Asa6 Whitney (Jonathan5, Matthias4, Cornelius3, Joshua2, John1), son of Jonathan5 and Olive (Cady) Whitney, was born about 1795, or 19 Mar 1797, Groton, CT, and died 9 Apr 1827, Windham, Luzerne Co., PA, aged 31 years.[1]
He married, Jane -----. She apparently died after 1834.
Last Will and Testament written 12 Oct 1825 and proved May 1827. Wife, Jayne, is named; he wills that Jayne have control of all property as long as she remains widow; should she marry, the property is to be rented for benefit of all children, girls and boys; when boy comes of lawful age, he is to pay each girl $100. No children are listed by name.[2]
