Family:Whitney, Barnabas (1766-1843)
Barnabas5 Whitney (Isaac4, Nathaniel3, Benjamin2, John1), son of Isaac4 and Hannah (Lombard) Whitney, was born 18 Aug 1766, Gorham, ME,[1] and died 19 Oct 1822,[2] or Oct 1823, or 19 Oct 1843, Freeman, ME.
Marriage intentions for him and Sarah R. Walker, both "of Buxton", were published 6 Nov 1788, Buxton, ME.[3] He married, 1 Jan 1789, Gorham or Buxton, ME, Sarah R. Walker,[4] daughter of John and Mary (Riggs) Walker. She was born 3 May 1765, Phillips, ME, and died 18 Jul 1838, Phillips, ME, aged 73 years.
Pierce says the following:[5]
- He settled in Pownal; in 1808 he moved to Freeman, where he died.
Both Barnabas and Sarah are buried in the Tuttle Corner Cemetery, Freeman, ME.

He fell dead on the street in Phillips while going to the river to water his horse. He was the brother of Elizabeth Parlin, who married Rebecca's brother Isaac. v.
