Belden Whitney (Kate, son of Kate Whitney by an unknownn father, was born 28 Sep 1797, New Milford, CT,[1] and died 8 Mar 1883, Sharon, CT, aged 85 years.

He married Ruth -----. She was born about 1798, CT, and died 10 Mar 1883, Sharon, CT, aged 83 years.

They resided in Sharon, CT. They were listed as 'black', 'colored', and 'mulatto' in various census records.
