Belden7 Whitney (Daniel6, Abijah5, Daniel4, Henry3, John2, Henry1), son of Daniel6 and Lydia (Newbury) Whitney, was born 14 Apr 1804, Pawling, NY, and died 7 May 1881. He is buried in Mecklenburg Cemetery, Hector, NY.[1]
He married firstly, 21 Feb 1829, Hector, NY, Sally Maria Proper, daughter of John and Paulina (Rosell) Proper. She was born 11 Jun 1811, Hector, NY, and died 20 Apr 1842, Enfield, NY. She was buried in Jones' Cemetery, Hector, NY.
He married secondly, 2 Sep 1843, Starkey, NY, Mary Elizabeth Newbury, daughter of Joel and Sally (Squire) Newbury, and granddaughter of Edie and Ruth (Burt) Newbury. She was born 26 Mar 1815, Patterson, NY, and died 8 Jan 1886. She is buried in Mecklenburg Cemetery, Hector, NY.[2]
Phoenix says the following:
- ". . . a farmer and teacher . . . . They settled at Enfield, N.Y. . . . . They were living in the west part of Enfield in Feb 1875."

Maria Whitney, b. 24 Nov 1835, Enfield, NY; d. 19 Apr 1857, Burdett, in Hector, NY; m. 17 Dec 1857, near Burdett, in Hector, NY, Peter Albert Coats, son of Joseph and Jane (Bellows) Coats, b. 17 Jun 1818; a farmer. They settled one mile north of Burdett.

iii. Emeline8 Whitney, b. 22 Sep 1844, Enfield, NY; m. 27 Nov 1872, Enfield, NY, Jerome Baxter Lovell, son of Aaron and Hetty (Griffin) Lovell, b. 11 Jun 1833, Enfield, NY; a farmer. They settled in Enfield, and were living there in Feb. 1875, on his father's homestead. iv. Luther Whitney, b. 9 Aug 1849, Enfield, NY; m. Elizabeth Stobbs. v. Eliza Whitney, b. 13 Oct 1852, Enfield, NY; and was living there, with her parents, in Feb 1875.
